EA SPORTS FC 27 has officially released its launch update pitch notes, revealing the complete roadmap from the game’s launch through Season 4. With Ultimate Team serving as the game’s core mode, what details regarding it were unveiled in these notes? Let’s take a look with IGGM.com.

Season Roadmap
The announced roadmap covers content plans for Seasons 1 through 4. Revealed Ultimate Team (UT) content for these seasons includes:
-
Season 1 (Sept 17 – Oct 22): Destined for Glory, Ones to Watch, and Future Stars
-
Season 2 (Oct – Nov): Ultimate Scream, UEFA Road to the Knockouts, Hall of FUT Unleashed, and Black Friday Thunderstruck
-
Season 3 (Nov – Jan): New Campaign, Winter Wildcards, Festive Showdowns, and Live Events
-
Season 4 (Jan – Feb): Team of the Year, Custom Gameplay Live Events, and End-of-Match Rewards

Notably, officials have confirmed that FC 27 will feature approximately five fewer weeks of promotional campaigns compared to FC 26. This means there will be fewer total promotions throughout the year, but the player lineups for each event will be more focused and streamlined.
Destined for Glory: The First Live Promo
Destined for Glory is confirmed to launch on September 25 and run until October 9, marking the first promotion of FUT 27. Confirmed players include Kylian Mbappé, Alexander Isak, Morgan Rogers, Bryan Mbeumo, and Mateus Fernandes.
These players were selected via a community voting mechanism, and their cards feature dynamic upgrades based on real-world performance during the 2026/27 season. The upgrade system falls into two categories:
-
For attackers and midfielders, every 3 goals or assists earned grants +1 to Shooting and Passing; 6 contributions grant +1 PlayStyle; 10 grant +1 OVR; and reaching 20 grants another +1 OVR.
-
For defenders and defensive midfielders, upgrades are based on clean sheets: 2 clean sheets grant +1 to Defending and Physicality; 4 grant +1 PlayStyle; 6 grant +1 OVR; and 10 grant another +1 OVR.
According to IGGM.com, this upgrade mechanism ensures that early promotional cards won’t rapidly outclass base Gold cards as they did in previous years.
New Icons and Hall of FUT

FC 27 introduces 10 new Icon players:
-
Sergio Agüero
-
Christine Sinclair
-
Pepe
-
Raphaël Varane
-
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
-
Formiga
-
Hege Riise
-
Yūki Nagasato
-
Tobin Heath
-
Ellen White
Six of these are female players, marking a significant step forward for the game in featuring legends from both men’s and women’s football. The minimum OVR for Base Icons has been raised to 88, and PlayStyles+ have been readjusted; notably, both Agüero and Sinclair are equipped with Finesse Shot+. Additionally, Lúcio and Yaya Touré have officially been upgraded from Heroes to Icons.
A brand-new card rarity – Hall of FUT – has also been introduced this year. Positioned below Hero tier, this category is dedicated to popular players who hold a special place in the collective memory of the player base.
According to leaks, Hall of FUT roster includes 21 players, such as Alexandre Pato, Mario Balotelli, Daniel Sturridge, Marouane Fellaini, Hatem Ben Arfa, Adel Taarabt, Adebayo Akinfenwa, and Michael Carrick. Their base OVRs generally range from 84 to 85.
The positioning of Hall of FUT is clear: to fill the gap between Icons and Heroes. Having continuously expanded the Hero lineup over the past few years, the developers were nearing the capacity limit for that tier. The introduction of Hall of Fame provides a home for players who may not quite reach Icon status but are certainly worthy of being Heroes, while also offering a more budget-friendly option for players with limited FC coins to acquire legendary players.
Transfer Market and Tradable Rewards
The developers have pledged to significantly increase the proportion of tradable rewards across all game modes, including Objectives, Rivals, and Champions.
Concurrently, adjustments are being made to FC Points and the pack store: the number of promotional packs will be reduced, and store offerings will be more restrained, ensuring that in-game progression remains the primary method for building a team.
Regarding rarity and pack updates, FC 27 will eliminate the distinction between common and rare players, categorizing them all simply as Gold players. At the same time, the card pack sizes have also been readjusted, divided into five tiers: mini (3 cards), small (6 cards), large (9 cards), jumbo (24 cards), and giant (32 cards).
Quick Sell values have also been increased. Quick Sell price for gold players has been adjusted to a range of 533-646 coins, with the values for Silver and Bronze players raised accordingly. For players in the early stages of building their teams, this means that quick-selling players from packs will yield a more substantial return than before.
Of course, for players looking to accelerate their early-game progress, there is the option to buy FUT 27 coins from IGGM.com to quickly boost resources for team building, in addition to earning rewards through in-game modes.
Post-Match Rewards: Returns for Every Game
FC 27 introduces an End of Match Rewards system, ensuring immediate benefits for matches played in Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles.
Upon completing eligible matches, players earn not only coins but also Season Points (SP) – ranging from 15 to 100 SP per match, with a daily cap of 850 SP earned through gameplay. Post-match coin rewards have also been boosted across modes; notably, the per-match earnings in Rivals and Champions can reach several times the amount seen in FC 26.
The Champions mode will revert to a 15-match Finals format. Champions Qualification Points (CQP) can now be earned through Rivals and Squad Battles, and the Division 6 requirement for entering Champions qualification process has been removed. Players in higher Divisions will earn CQP at a faster rate.
Squad Battles now incorporates Champions qualification progress in the new season; players can earn CQP through PvE matches, eliminating the need to rely solely on Rivals to accumulate qualification points.
Overall, the adjustments EA FC 27 has made to Ultimate Team focus on streamlining in-game progression, diversifying reward acquisition methods, and alleviating the fatigue caused by an overly dense promotional schedule. From the new Hall of Fame to changes regarding post-match rewards, tradeable items, and the Champions qualification system, IGGM.com believes the developers are further reinforcing the experience of building a team through active gameplay.
